Multiplicity results for a Gauss equation on a hyperbolic surface
Mercoledì 10 Novembre alle ore 16:00 il Prof. Marcello Lucia (College of Staten Island and Graduate Center, City University of New York) terrà un seminario di Analisi Matematica dal titolo " Multiplicity results for a Gauss equation on a hyperbolic surface".

Abstract:
Minimal surfaces have attracted a lot of attention in differential geometry and lead to very interesting nonlinear problems. Following a program that goes back to Uhlenbeck, we will discuss the gauss equation on a hyperbolic surface that arises when one prescribes the conformal structure and the second fundamental form. We will see that such a problem has at least two solutions. If time permits we will discuss a “dual” problem, for which existence and uniqueness of solution can be derived.

Il seminario avrà luogo in presenza presso il Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica
Largo San Leonardo Murialdo 1 - Pal. C - Aula 311
