Physics

The PhD course in Physics at Roma Tre is hosted in the Department of Mathematics and Physics in collaboration with the National institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). It spans all main areas of Physics including Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Particle Physics, Theoretical Physics and Mathematical Models, Earth and Environmental Physics. More emphasis is given on those topics that overlap with the most active research areas in our Department. The PhD course has a duration of three years. During the first year, the students are expected to attend a wide range of courses aiming at broadening their cultural background. At the end of the first year they are expected to define their research subject and the topic of the thesis. During the second and third year, while carrying out their research project, they are expected to periodically report the development of their research to PhD Board.
