This course introduces students to the fascinating network science,
both from a theoretical and a computational point of view through practical examples. Networks with complex topological properties are a new discipline rapidly expanding due to its multidisciplinary nature:
it has found in fact applications in many fields, including finance, social sciences and biology.
The first part of the course is devoted to the characterization of the
topological structure of complex networks and to the study of the most used network models. The second part is focused on growth and dynamical processes in these systems and to the study of specific networks of this kind.
