Abstract: We review the fundamental ideas and known results of the renormalization
group approach by Balaban and Dimock, with a particular emphasis on the \phi^4_3 model. We briefly present partial results towards the convergence of the partition functions of the \phi^4_3 model and the RG group in the 2d sigma models.
