Abstract: I will first recall Horikawa's description of surfaces with K^2=2p_g-4 and K^2=2p_g-3 and their moduli spaces. Then I will describe some divisors contained in the closure of the moduli space of surfaces with K^2=p_g-3 inside the KSBA moduli space of stable surfaces for p_g large enough. This is joint work with Ciro Ciliberto.
