Abstract: The incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations (NSEs) are a paradigmatic problem in scientific computing. They not only represent a model of extreme interest for applications, but also show some common features of many large computational problems: high complexity, strong interaction between the physics of the problem and the approximation techniques, and a requirement of maximum efficiency for the code on the given architecture.
